Communication During Childhood Cancer: Systematic Review of Patient Perspectives

Effective communication is challenging in childhood cancer if that is perceived to be parent-centered. Child-centered, respectful, and empathetic communication:

1) can reduce the fear and vulnerability associated with cancer

2) can regain safety and control over children's bodies, cancer, and treatment.

This systematic review included patients diagnosed with cancer at age ≤ 18 years and reported their perspectives of communicating with clinicians during treatment. Check out the article below:
